1999 – Current: Founder and CEO of a venture capital company and virtual business incubator. This company works with media, environmental, bio science, and information and communication technology companies who have the ambition to achieve fast growth. It has also worked with and funded over 60 companies since its foundation. Now a personal vehicle for Richards’s investment and consulting activities.

June 2005 – Current: Investor and advisor of a property development company specialising in value added property development in particular the conversion of offices to apartments and redevelopment of brown field sites. Funding is provided by a network of high net worth individuals.

April 2013 – June 2017: Founder and Director of a drug development and discovery company which has been spun out of University College London and Kings College (KCL). KCL is currently supporting the company by providing researchers, offices, and labs in exchange for an equity stake.

2021 – Current: Chairman of Xylotek Ltd. Xylotek creates beautiful wooden buildings. Started mentoring them in 2019 when they had £790,000 revenues. This year total revenues will bel about 10m.
